EpicureanHeadShot Greetings! Thank you for taking the time to learn more about EpicureanDC, who we are and what we do. My name is Rebekah; I’m the Owner and Editor-in-Chief of EpicureanDC. Here we believe that food is an expression of oneself. What one makes, and then what one eats is an extension of personality, interests, and desires that manifest through ingredients, cooking styles and finally as artistic presentations. While sustenance is key to survival, we choose to view dining as an interactive experience with one’s senses where the appreciation of beauty, creativity, and skill elevates a dish to more than just “food”.

We strive to capture our observations through quality photography, and illustrative writing allowing our readers to share in our experiences. We want to excite, intrigue, and encourage YOU to try something new, to see what we see, and to explore the culinary gems that the District has to offer.

“First we eat, then we do everything else.” ~ M.F.K. Fisher

The above quote by M.F.K. Fisher represents what EpicureanDC is in its entirety. Here we’re on a quest to find pleasure through food, drink, and activities that enhance the limited life we lead. Although our main focus is within the D.C. Metro Area, we know that dining and cultivating new stories to tell our some-day grandchildren reaches far beyond our community’s boarders, past state lines, and spans the world. We’re curious beings. What can we say?

At EpicureanDC our topics include (but are not limited to) restaurant openings, tasting menus, food & drink festivals and events, charity events, travel topics, and the occasional recipe when we’re feeling inspired. In other words, if food is involved we want to be there so we can share it with you.
